TGIFY!

TGIFY! Thank Goodness It was Friday Yesterday! The sky was a clear ocean blue, the breeze kissed the sun burns of those students foolish enough to travel outside without a protective layer, and it was another good day to be outside among nature. There is still no sign of smoke clouds from the horizon, and neither has there been any ash perforating the fresh wind. The students broke into work projects after morning check-in, with the usual tasks of horse riding, ranch beautification, and kitchen work.

One new task was the sewer line discover. Here is what a student had to say about it:
“During sewer line discovery, we dug a few holes where the sewer pipe was believed to be. The first two holes showed no results. We also learned an old technique to find pipes. All it uses is a bent wire. After getting a hit from the wire, we dug in another spot where the wire got the read. After a while of daggering with shovels and a rock breaker, Chris, the maintenance man, brought out the big guns. The pipe has to be found.”

After a rousing afternoon of academics, the students had the treat of seeing the process of teeth floating. Because of the way in which a horse chews on the grass and grain, the horse can start to have sharp teeth that can dig into its gums. A veterinarian is called in, Dr. Suit, to alleviate this problem. The students go to see the process in action, as well as get a general description of the tools that are being used. After the teeth floating, the students went on a short hike, although many would proclaim that it was not that short, around the forest. Again, those not lucky enough to apply the proper sun blockage felt the sting.
